Supports CYFA’s work to help remedy the failings of the criminal legal system, primarily for children of color. CYFA works collaboratively with all stakeholders (not just criminal justice and welfare practitioners) to provide resources to help keep youth out of the carceral system. Through their programs, law enforcement, schools and community members have the opportunity to refer matters involving conduct that would otherwise lead to criminal charges to CYFA, for community-based resolution using restorative justice.
