Grants Review Process
The Dominion Guild invites local 501(c)(3) organizations serving the Northern Virginia community to apply for funding beginning on December 1 and ending on February 1.
Dominion Guild considers funding applications in the areas of health / medical care, affordable housing, food assistance, human services, education, and the arts. The Grants Committee (the "Committee") reviews the applications once the Grants Committee Chair determines that the application meets the application instructions. The Committee typically chooses between 5 to 7 organizations to which the Committee will send representatives for site visits, allowing members to ask additional questions and to visit the facilities, or observe the charitable organizations work in action.
After thorough review of the applications and site visits, the Committee recommends a slate of organizations to the entire membership. Representatives from the organizations will attend a Dominion Guild meeting in May to give a brief 5-to-7-minute presentation about their organization and answer questions from the broader membership. The chosen grant recipients will be notified that their respective organization has qualified for a grant from the proceeds of the Merry Market in November.
